Write finding suppression rules

Open Settings → Policy → Finding suppression and select the organisation. You need permission to remove findings.

  1. Select Write a rule.
  2. Enter one or more conditions. Class and category match exact identifiers. Title, description, and location match part of the text. Each condition must contain at least three characters.
  3. Read the rule summary. All filled conditions must match for a finding to be suppressed.
  4. Choose the severity ceiling. New rules default to medium; high and critical findings are excluded at this ceiling.
  5. Choose the dismissal reason and enter an explanation of at least ten characters.
  6. Read the impact preview against recent PR review findings. If no sample exists, the UI says that impact is unknown.
  7. If you choose high, critical, or no ceiling, explicitly acknowledge the higher-severity suppression.
  8. Select Save rule.

These rules apply to future PR reviews for the organisation. They do not retroactively dismiss existing findings. Suppressed findings carry the rule, explanation, and author in the review’s dismissal record.

Select Disable to stop applying a rule while keeping its record. Select Enable to resume it. Delete a rule only when you intend to remove its rule record. For temporary exceptions, record a review date in the reason and disable the rule when that date arrives.

See Manage findings for individual finding actions.
